# Internal projects
> Track an internal AI tool's cost against the key metrics it drives, instead of revenue.
A regular Weflayr project tracks AI cost against **revenue**: that is what powers the [Margin](/product/margin) page. Internal tools (a sales copilot, a support assistant, an ops agent) have no revenue, so an internal project tracks cost against the **key metrics** the tool drives instead, like meetings booked or tickets resolved. Accounts are your own **users** rather than customers.
## What changes
* The [Overview](/product/overview) and [Cost](/product/cost) pages work the same, with users in place of customers.
* The [Margin](/product/margin) page becomes **Performance per User**: analyse cost per user against the key metric of your choice (e.g. cost vs meeting booked).
## Create one
Go to **Switch project** in the sidebar, click **New project** and pick **Internal cost**.
## Define your key metrics
In **Costs & Key Metrics** in the sidebar, name your key metrics, then upload their values per user as a CSV (one column per metric).
